As a sucker for love, I’m always down to photograph one of the most precious moments between a couple when their journey to forever officially begins: the proposal.
Kent knew he wanted his proposal to Blythe to be epic, memorable and special. They had their very first date downtown Chicago, so he knew he wanted to propose somewhere downtown. He also mentioned to me that he wanted to involve Blythe’s son, Landon, so I knew we were in for a super awesome surprise that the whole family could be involved in!
We settled on Olive Park for the proposal, one of my absolute most FAVORITE spots in Chicago. The skyline view is phenomenal. The water glistens in the sunlight. It was going to be P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
Kent got Blythe’s best friend involved and she walked around with Blythe to distract her until Kent and Landon were ready to meet her at the gate of the park with roses.
I hid in the grass as Kent walked Blythe ALLLLL the way down to this very spot where he then popped the question.
Landon then rushed over to his mom and gave her the biggest hug ever! I think he’s just as pumped that Blythe and Kent are getting married!
Every good proposal always ends with a cold glass of champagne, so the four held a toast and Landon enjoyed some sparkling grape juice too! Yum!
We spent some time taking photos of the newly engaged couple (and soon-to-be new family of three!) at Olive Park and let me tell ya, this couple + these views are what dreams are made of.
I am so fortunate to have captured this special moment between these love birds. Their love they share with one another was so apparent. Blythe has such a contagious smile and the way that Kent looks at Blythe with so much love makes me remember why I love what I do!
Happy wedding planning, loves!
