Where do I even begin? Teresa and Ryan’s winter wedding at The Haley Mansion could not have been any more perfect. When Teresa and Ryan booked with me, she had mentioned that she was hoping it would snow on her wedding day and that’s EXACTLY what she got!
Mother Nature was really playing on our side for their engagement session too at Water Fall Glen where we were surprised my giant snow flakes coming down toward the end of our session! Long story short, if you are ever in need of some snow, just hang around these two 😉
Teresa and Ryan’s wedding day was filled with soft shades of gold and pops of red in the florals. I loved all of the detailing done in the sleeve’s of Teresa’s gown and was so surprised when she told me it was custom beaded just for her!! It definitely matched their elegant and romantic theme at the Haley Mansion for their reception.
I always love when my couples add personal touches to their wedding day. Ryan wore these custom cufflinks that had a photo of his great grandfather in them.
Teresa wore a long cathedral veil which was her mother’s that she wore for her wedding. I love when family pieces get past down from generation to generation!
Ok I might have cried during this part of the day. Teresa read the letter from Ryan to herself first, then re-read it again out loud for her bridesmaids and parents to hear. It was the cutest letter I have ever heard. Ryan wrote about how they traded notes when they first started dating and now 8 years later they are finally getting married.
“It’s funny to me to think of all the ‘we made it!’ milestones in our relationship. Saying ‘we made it’ after 1 year or after 5 years. I cannot wait to look at you in 50 years and say we made it! I promise to love you unconditionally for the rest of my life.”
After Teresa read a letter from Ryan (and of course shed a tear or two!) we headed to St. George Catholic Church in Tinley Park for their Catholic ceremony.
Once we wrapped up at the church, we headed to the Haley Mansion and were greeted by the best winter wedding present ever….SNOW!!
Teresa wore her grandmother’s fur coat and her other grandmother’s pin on her bouquet. This was so special because both had passed and they were able to be a part of her wedding day. So special!
At the end of the night, we snuck around the mansion to get a few more romantic portraits of the two of them. For summer weddings, I always like to sneak out for “sunset portraits” but this one was a bit different. We got to sneak out for SNOW portraits!
Teresa and Ryan – I feel like you two are close friends who I have known forever! From getting to know each other at your engagement session, to celebrating at Jackie and Prokopi’s wedding this past fall, it’s been so much fun watching your love grow. I can’t wait to see what year 50 holds for the two of you!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your unbelievable winter fairytale wedding.
