On a chilly, January Sunday afternoon, I met up with Caitlin and Matthias to explore the Chicago Board of Trade Building and Olive Park for their engagement session. Downtown Chicago is THE BEST on a Sunday when its cold because the streets are so empty. So much room for us! YAY!
We started out outside the Chicago Board of Trade Building where there were some beautiful pillars nearby.
It wouldn’t be a Chicago Board of Trade engagement session unless you got in the middle of the street 😉
……aaaaannnddddd also wouldn’t be epic without a dip-kiss in the middle of that street 😉
We hopped in an Uber to warm up and head to our next destination: Olive Park!
I always love using this time during the session when we are transitioning, either by changing outfits or changing locations. to get to know my couples a bit more.
I learned that Caitlin and Matthias love cooking Asian-inspired dishes for dinner! This is something Drew and I also like to do, especially homemade stir fry…yum!
These two love to do a lot of things together whether it’s cooking, trying new/old restaurants, going for walks, hanging with friends or taking vacation. YAAASSSS my type of couple!!!
Olive Park is one of my favorite portrait locations, especially in the winter. Not only is beautiful, but it’s quiet and pretty empty! Since winters here in Chicago aren’t always the prettiest with all the dead leaves on the trees, I always think its such a treat when my couples want to showcase the city skyline in their engagement photos.
Matthias proposed to Caitlin on Lake Michigan, so this lake will always hold a special place in their hearts.
I cannot wait for their wedding at the beautiful theWit Chicago in September! They said they really wanted a city wedding and it ended up being the perfect combination of convenience, food/drink and overall vibe. Plus, it has a rooftop. Who doesn’t love a rooftop?!
Love this session downtown Chicago? Check out another downtown engagement session outside the Wrigley Building!
