It rained. The night before Kristin and Kevin’s dreamy lilac wedding at Quivey’s Grove, it rained. I mean POURED. I’m sure a bit of worry crossed their minds as they went to bed that night wondering what would be in store for their outdoor wedding. But to say we lucked out would be an understatement. Sure, it rained on their wedding day, but the rain Gods had impeccable timing! It poured 10 minutes before their ceremony began, then started raining right after their ceremony ended! The sun even made an appearance, but honestly, the foggy, overcast day just made their wedding at Quivey’s Grove in Madison, Wisconsin even dreamer. It felt like we were living in an enchanted fairytale!
Kristin and her girls all had matching flats which I loved! Talk about the perfect comfy wedding day shoe. This handkerchief was made using Kristin’s grandmother’s wedding gown. After I photographed details, Kristin did a first look reveal with her bridesmaids!
After the ceremony, everyone celebrated with a champagne toast!
These two love to visit breweries, explore downtown Madison, ride their bikes, take their dog Howie for walks and just simply enjoy being around each other.
The bride does GORGEOUS calligraphy work so she handmade all of her signage for the wedding. Kevin gave her a special shoutout during his toast about all the late nights she spent perfecting every sign. I was obsessed with the hexagon name plates she made!
If you’re from Madison, you might recognize these chairs from the Union Terrace located on the UW campus. Their cake toppers were a super special detail because they resembled an important place for the couple and their relationship. Kevin and Kristin met at the Union Terrace for their first date AND it was where Kevin asked her to be his girlfriend later on! Their cake was so tasty, even the bees loved it too 😉
