After Kayla and Dave’s summer wedding at Almquist Farm, I want ALLLLL of my brides to wear flowers in their hair! This wedding was perfect in so many ways, but what made it so much more perfect was the fact it was a day of celebration!
The couple had an intimate backyard wedding last year at their home, so they were pumped that they were able to have another celebration, but this one on a bigger scale featuring fun, joy and a way of honoring their first year of marriage.
Almquist Farm is absolutely STUNNING. I didn’t struggle one bit with finding portrait locations here. The ceremony site felt like we were in an enchanted valley surrounded by the bluffs and gorgeous trees!
Kayla wore her grandmother’s engagement ring on her right hand along with a broach from one of her “pretties” pinned to her bouquet. It is always so special when couples incorporate someone special in their day when they are no longer with us on earth.
Come on! How enchanted is this?!
Family is super important to these two. Last year Kayla’s grandparents weren’t able to attend the backyard wedding in person, but they attended via Zoom. Kayla’s grandfather spoke to the couple and they had the audio of the message he gave to them last year play during their ceremony. It was so emotional. I have never witnessed something that special at one of my ceremonies before.
They will cherish that audio recording of Kayla’s grandfather forever.
Dave and Kayla thought of all of the small details for their day, one of which was surprising their guests with a Minnesota Nice Cream Truck!
We snuck away from the party for a few glowy sunset portraits. That light though!
